Here the nose is less obviously toasty with very ripe peach, pear and hints of fennel and an interesting straw note that highlights the rich, powerful exceptionally dense flavors underpinned by plenty of dry extract and a beautifully well balanced finish. To be sure, there is plenty of size and weight here yet the overall impression is more one of elegance than muscle. 90 2008+

the 2004 Dom Pérignon Rosé is explosive and hedonistically rich

spicy black fruit aromas that lead to velvety

but the Garnacha is from different plots in the zone of Tudelilla at high altitude

The old vines are very much apparent as this velvety yet very serious effort displays excellent power and like many of these Gevrey grands crus

A ripe and deeply pitched nose offers up notes of plum

This is also quite ripe with a similar aromatic profile save for a hint of petrol
